Community Resources/Agencies

Below is a list of resources and agencies within our community for parents and students to access for a variety of supports. 

 

Saskatchewan Association for Community Living

  • This organization provides a variety of programs for clients of all ages.  SACL promotes self-advocacy, provides recreation activities, and assists with transitioning in the community.

Community Living Service Delivery

  • The main objective of CLSD is to ensure physical, emotional, and social needs are met of people with intellectual disabilities to enable them to live and function as independently as possible within their communities (as stated on website).  Families are encouraged to have contacted CLSD prior to graduation, as CLSD assists with transition planning.

Regina and District Association for Community Living

  • RDACL’s mission is to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities can participate fully as valued citizens in our community.  Programs include Sir Dancelot, Best Buddies, Campus for All, etc.  Parent support groups and respite programs are also offered.

Saskatchewan Abilities Council

  • The Saskatchewan Abilities Council works with people of varying abilities to enhance their independence and participation in the community through vocational, rehibilitation, and recreational services.

Neil Squire Foundation

  • Neil Squire Foundation offers programs for people with physical disabilities (computer training, literacy, and skill enhancement programs. assistive technology consultations/assessments).

Cognitive Disability Strategy (CDS)

  • CDS may provide individuals with a cognitive impairement and/or their caregivers funding to access services/training for which there is no alternate source of funding.  For example, funding for service providers is often provided by CDS.

Special Olympics Saskatchewan

  • Special Olympics offers individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in sport, fitness, and physical recreation.

Regina Residential Resource Center (RRRC)

  • RRRC provides short-term respite care in a residential setting to individuals with intellectual disabilities.  Individuals must be involved with CLSD to access.

Autism Resource Center (ARC)

  • Based on the needs of the individual, ARC provides: programming, assessments, family training, training seminars for individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Canadian National Institute for the Blind

  • Provides services to individuals with blindness and severe vision impairment.  Services include counseling, teaching, training, sight enhancement, technical aids, library services, and career development.
